And there are several initiatives from the project that are now continuing and developing in local groups.<\/p>\n
\u2013 The photo walk in Roma has continued after the project, as have wellness courses in Hemse and \u00d6stergarn that continue with activities. In \u00d6stergarn, a gym group and a table tennis group have also emerged as a result of the project, says Anita.<\/p>\n
Another great example of \u201dspin-offs\u201d from the project is \u201dOn Bounce\u201d in F\u00e5r\u00f6sund.<\/p>\n

\u201dThe \u201dOn Bounce\" group meets every Tuesday and Friday at ten o'clock at Gotlands IdrottsCenter in F\u00e5r\u00f6sund.<\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0\u201dA wonderful form of training\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2013 <\/strong>After the wellness course within the project \u201dGet Gotland Moving,\u201d we were a group of 65-plus individuals who tried the \u201dOn Bounce\u201d concept and thought it was a lot of fun! We formed a group within F\u00e5r\u00f6sunds GOIK. And since then, we meet every Tuesday and Friday at ten o'clock and play together at Gotlands IdrottsCenter here in F\u00e5r\u00f6sund, says Lars Elfstr\u00f6m<\/em> who has taken on the role of keeping the group together.<\/p>\n \u201dOn Bounce\u201d is a simpler form of tennis adapted for the participants \u2013 you play doubles on a mini tennis court with a soft ball, and two bounces are allowed. Visby Tennis Club provides rackets, balls, and nets. To participate, you need to be a member of F\u00e5r\u00f6sunds GOIK, and it costs only 350 kronor per year in addition to the membership fee.<\/p>\n \u2013 We are 18 people participating. We are between about 70 and just over 80 years old. It is a wonderful form of training, and the attitude is friendly and permissive. The only rule is that married couples cannot play together, says Lars with a smile.<\/p>\n \u201dOn Bounce\u201d has become a popular form of training for 65+ in F\u00e5r\u00f6sund. The participants play doubles on a mini tennis court with a soft ball, and two bounces are allowed.<\/em><\/p>\n Coffee and solving world problems<\/strong><\/p>\n The atmosphere during the game is at its peak, and after the training session, there is coffee and socializing.<\/p>\n \u2013 It is an important part of the whole \u2013 during coffee, we have a good time, talk about all sorts of things, and solve world problems, says Lars.<\/p>\n After the tennis session and coffee, several of the participants also do a gym session in the facilities at Gotlands IdrottsCenter.<\/p>\n After training, there is a joint coffee break \u2013 an important part of the whole that everyone values highly.<\/em><\/p>\n Try-out sessions and club championships<\/strong><\/p>\n The \u201dOn Bounce\u201d group has at various times held free \"try-out sessions\" to attract more participants.<\/p>\n \u2013 Recently, the RF-SISU initiative \u201dSenior-April\u201d was organized. We participated with try-out activities and it led to us gaining two new members, says Lars.<\/p>\n There has also been an exchange with the \u201dP\u00e5 Studs group\u201d that exists within Visby TK.<\/p>\n \u2013 We have visited each other and played together \u2013 really fun, thinks Lars, who admits that the competitive instinct is awakened a bit when playing with and against other clubs.<\/p>\n And in May, there will be a first club championship within P\u00e5 Studs in F\u00e5r\u00f6sund.<\/p>\n \u2013 It will be exciting \u2013 everyone thinks it feels fun to have matches a bit \u201dfor real,\u201d even though the cohesion and the \u201dWe spirit\u201d are of course the most important.<\/p>\n Opportunity for additional activities<\/strong><\/p>\n Moving forward, there may be additional activities beyond the obvious Tuesday and Friday sessions.<\/p>\n \u2013 There are opportunities to apply for funding for various activities for 65+ from RF-SISU. Perhaps there could be trips and visits to other clubs. But there could also be other types of activities such as dance, lectures on healthy food, or guidance on how to train with different equipment in the gym, says Lars.<\/p>\n It is clear that the \u201dP\u00e5 Studs group\u201d in F\u00e5r\u00f6sund is doing well and having fun together \u2013 both on the tennis court and during coffee breaks \u2013 and would like to come up with even more together.<\/p>\n The spirit in the \u201dP\u00e5 Studs\u201d group in F\u00e5r\u00f6sund is warm, friendly, and permissive.<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" During 2023 and 2024, RF-SISU Gotland carried out the project \u201dGet Gotland moving\u201d with support from Leader Gute.
