feasibility study: meeting place Sockerbiten

In this feasibility study, the Roma Interest Association will investigate the need for a new and inclusive meeting place in Roma, which also encompasses the history of the Sugar Factory.

About the project

The ambition is to create a place that both preserves the industrial history and simultaneously offers contemporary and future activities for different target groups. A cross-generational activity is seen as important.

The meeting place, adjacent to the former sugar factory, is intended to be pedagogically designed and open to all. Here, people of different ages and backgrounds can meet, learn, and create together.

The meeting place, which has the working name ”Sockerbiten,” is not intended solely as a museum, but rather as a living place for knowledge transfer, dialogue, and development of both new and existing activities in Roma and its surroundings.
