Leader guts support for businesses

Leader Gute's strategy clearly points to the importance of developing sustainable and innovative companies in Gotland's rural areas.

Therefore, there are special offers for support for companies. At the same time, there are special rules and conditions for support for companies, which differ from support for public benefit activities.

NOTE! Currently, there is only one project support for companies to apply for – the call for proposals ”Rural Enterprises”, where currently (June 2026) there is a total of SEK 600,000 left to distribute. A company can be granted between 40 and 70% of budgeted costs in a project – up to a maximum support amount of SEK 300,000.

However, there are several mini-grants for companies to apply for.

CALL FOR RURAL ENTERPRISES

This call for project support is specifically aimed at companies with addresses and operations in the island's rural areas.

The support can, for example, be used to increase competence in companies, develop existing products/services, diversify companies, create new or develop existing collaborations/company networks or increase service in rural areas.

This can be done through, for example, courses/training, study visits, meetings/workshops, development of prototypes, implementation of tests or consultancy work in the form of, among other things, surveys, analyses or strategy work.

The support may not be used for primary production or regular operations – it must be used for new initiatives with a focus on social, economic and/or ecological sustainability.6 The project must be carried out in collaboration with at least two other actors.

There is now (June 2026) a total of SEK 600,000 left to distribute within the call. A company can be granted between 40 and 70% of budgeted costs in a project – up to a maximum support amount of SEK 300,000.

  • Each theme has a total budget of 400,000 SEK – when the entire amount is distributed, the theme is closed. ”First come, first served”.
  • The requested grant amount is to finance 70% of a mini-project for companies (the rest is self-financing).
  • The amount of support is currently usually up to 40,000 SEK including any VAT per project. (Read more about support amounts under each current theme for mini support)
  • No other external co-financing may occur.
  • The entire amount is paid after the project is completed and the final report is submitted.
