About leader gute
Local benefit and anchoring
Through Leader Gute, associations, companies and organizations can apply for money for development projects that provide locally anchored benefits in Gotland's rural areas. We also run our own projects to strengthen local development power. Our association has around 40 members in the non-profit, public and private sectors who are involved in developing the island's rural areas in various ways. Our activities and our support are financed with funds from the EU, the state and Region Gotland.
How Leader Gute is managed
Our operations are based on the Leader method, which was introduced by the EU in 1991. The method is based on the fact that local development is best and most sustainable if it is driven by those of you who live and work there. Read more about the leader method
The association is led by a board of directors with representatives from our members. The board is called LAG (Local Action Group).
Our daily operations are managed by our office with an operations manager, an administrator and a communicator. The office is located at Gotland Grönt Centrum in Roma.
The focus of our operations and the support we offer is guided by a local development strategy. It is developed in broad collaboration with many committed actors in the development of the island's rural areas.
The current strategy is for the programming period 2023-2027. The strategy's vision is "Gotland - a creative island with room for the whole life!"” Read the strategy in full or in an abbreviated summary
