Strategy 2023-2027

The foundation for our operations and our support

The strategy has been developed together with many engaged individuals from the non-profit, private, and public sectors. It is also coordinated with Region Gotland's new Regional Development Strategy, ”Our Gotland 2040.”.

Leader Gute's strategy describes what needs to be done to strengthen development in the island's rural areas. The strategy indicates the direction for the support that can be applied for and Leader Gute's other activities. It also states that it is particularly important to reach out with information about our support and our activities to young, sustainable, and innovative companies as well as cultural and creative industries.

The strategy's vision and goals

The strategy's vision is:
”Gotland – a creative island with room for the whole life!”
The goals that have been identified in the strategy are:

• Gotland is an innovative growth region with development potential
• Gotland is a safe and inclusive society with vitality for all
• Gotland is a role model in the energy and climate transition

Three areas of intervention

To steer support and activities towards the vision and goals, the strategy includes three so-called areas of intervention:

• Sustainable business
• Live and stay on the entire island
• Accelerating climate and energy transition

If you are applying for our project support for larger development initiatives, you must explain in the application how your project fits into our strategy and at least one area of intervention.
If you are applying for support for mini-projects, you do not need to do this – these smaller supports have already been categorized into themes that correspond with the strategy and areas of intervention.
