Do you want Gotland's rural areas to be a good place for young people to live, thrive, and work? We are looking for you with great commitment and drive who wants to make a difference by strengthening young people's inclusion in Gotland's rural areas!
Leader Gute has received project support from the General Inheritance Fund for the project Young Vitality in collaboration. The project will run for 3 years and is about enabling more young people to express their engagement and create activities through self-organization or within non-profit organizations in Gotland's rural areas. The project aims to build bridges between generations through intergenerational meetings that lead to activities based on young people's interests. The project also wants to strengthen
young people's conditions for self-organization.
Tasks
You have the overall main responsibility for the project where, in addition to ensuring that the project meets its set goals, you will lead a junior project manager and be responsible for maintaining the project budget.
You will consistently work actively to be where young people are and adapt the content and the project's activities to young people's needs and interests. This means actively seeking out young people and exploring their interests and needs to shape the project's activities accordingly. You will also facilitate intergenerational meetings between the target groups of young people aged 12–25 and the secondary target group 65+ to empower older individuals to include young people.
You will also conduct a strategic mapping and baseline measurement to identify organizations' perceived barriers to including young people and what activities are arranged for and with young people, as well as map young people's needs and interests. Over 3 years, you will develop a strategic collaboration model that increases young people's inclusion in non-profit organizations in Gotland's rural areas and enhances the conditions for young people's self-organization.
Requirements qualifications:
We want you to have 5 years of post-secondary education with at least a master's degree focused on, for example, social sustainability, leadership, and/or organizational development. You have experience in budget management and prior project experience.
You have documented experience working with change processes, youth, and rural issues within civil society in Gotland. You have a broad network among young and older people in Gotland's rural areas and very good experience working within the national LEADER network. You should also be comfortable giving presentations and speaking in front of an audience.
You enjoy working both operationally and strategically – both in daily implementation while seeing the big picture and planning for long-term goals and development. As a person, you are attentive, responsible, pragmatic, and cooperative. You are interested in learning new things, leading your own initiatives, open to co-creation, and skilled at building long-term relationships.
You should have good knowledge of social media and be comfortable using it, especially those that young people themselves use, such as Twitch, TikTok, Snap, and Instagram.
You have a driver's license and the ability to use your own car for work purposes.
The position requires great flexibility, drive, and a burning commitment to develop Gotland's countryside, which means you can work during the day, evenings, and weekends. Travel within the assignment is included. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Employment
We apply a probationary period of 6 months. The position includes wellness benefits, occupational pension, and collective agreements. The workplace is the association's office at Gotland Green Center in Roma. Remote work to some extent can be discussed but is based on the needs of the work. A driver's license and personal car for business trips are required. Any mileage compensation is provided after reporting.
Employment will begin immediately according to agreement.
