Local economic analysis for local development Fårö/Heligholm
The project group (Coompanion Gotland ek för, Heligholm Utveckling AB and Fårö Utveckling AB) intends to conduct so-called local economic analyses (LEA) for each development company's geographical delimitation area.
About the project
The initiative aims both to investigate each geography's trade balance and thereby support the development of service plans, action plans, and projects for increased service and growth, as well as to build knowledge and competence in Gotland and within the development companies about modernly conducted LEA so that the method can be utilized by more development companies around the Gotlandic countryside.
The project group's thesis is that through fact-based analysis of a locality's local trade balance, i.e., the state of inflow and outflow of money, conditions are created for how the continued local development work can and should be shaped. With LEA as a foundation, local actors can draw their own conclusions about what efforts, measures, collaborations, processes, and knowledge are needed to maintain and develop existing and new services, etc., in and for the local community.

The Swedish Board of Agriculture granted the application for project support 2024-12-10.

To create conditions for better working conditions, increased quality of life, and strengthened place development in Gotland's countryside.
Project goals:
To to produce two local economic analyses as well as a regional network consisting of local development actors in Gotland.
