Development of the church village in Östergarn

Today, there are three main actors with operations in the properties in the church village: Nygarn Utveckling AB operates a business hotel in the old school building, Östergarns IK conducts sports activities in the gymnasium and at the sports field, and Romaklosters parish (Swedish Church) has a parish hall and parish office in the wings of the rectory. The main building of the rectory is periodically vacant, and future use of this fine building is being discussed.

The collaborating partners (the three actors) wish to, with the support of a process leader, develop a joint development plan for the development of the church village in Östergarn so that the needs of different target groups for meeting places can be met. The holistic perspective is important.

There are already identified needs for local adaptations for functional variations, increased accessibility, energy efficiency improvements, modernization of the old school premises, etc.

The preliminary study will, in addition to the basis for a comprehensive development plan for the properties in Östergarn's church village, also include cost calculations and decision support for future investments. The preliminary study is intended to serve as the basis for an application for investment support from the General Inheritance Fund or another actor.
