Development of small-scale fishing industry

This Leader Gute-supported project became an important part in the development of a renewed small-scale Gotland fishing industry. Now Gutefisk economic association has created new local fish products that are sold in several stores. The development has been highlighted as a successful example of European Commission Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG Mare).

About the project

  • Project name: ”Product development and marketing of Gotland fish”
  • Project owner: Gotland Household Society, Roma
  • Purpose: to increase the value of and make available the locally produced fish quantity to meet the demand for locally produced fish as well as new products and flavors.
  • CASE: to identify new fish species that can be further processed and find new ways to serve fish from the Baltic Sea.
