Announcement – Environmental project

To be eligible for this support, the project must:

  • Be long-term contribute to a shift towards a more environmentally sustainable society in Gotland's rural areas – not least by counteracting negative climate change or its effects.
  • Be driven at local level and further develop or test new working methods, technology, solutions or methods. The project can also spread solutions or methods to a broader target group.
  • Work with capacity-building measures, knowledge transfer, networking i in combination with active measures such as pilot tests or similar.
  • Specifically, the project can focus on one of these three areas:

– Counteract or reduce negative environmental and climate impact. E.g. through energy transition, reduced food/material waste, or production aimed at being climate neutral/climate positive.

– Prevent or counteract negative effects of climate change. E.g. through new solutions for sustainable water supply/water management or making environments more resilient to extreme weather.

– Protect, improve, or restore biodiversity and ecological balance in natural or marine environments. E.g. by improving water circulation in silted water environments, creating pollinator-friendly environments, or maintaining meadows.The project must be anchored with the local target group.

    • NOTE! funding level is 40–100 percent.If the organization does not own the site or premises where the project will be implemented, there must be a long-term lease agreement or agreement on usage rights.
